By Reginald Sullivan | September 22, 2006
Do you know Warner-Robins is located in Houston County? Do you know Warner-Robins is one of the fastest growing cities, not just in the county, but in the state? Do you know Warner-Robins has an excellent school system? In fact beginning in the year 2007 through the year 2012, 2 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, and a new high school are expected to be built by the county board of education. Much of the growth in Houston county, and in Warner-Robins specifically, can be attributed to the great school system and the influx of people from Florida.
Did you know the largest single employer in the state of Georgia is located in Warner-Robins? That’s right, Robins Air Force Base is the single largest employer in the state. The base administrators expect that about 6 thousand plus of its nearly 12 thousand civilian employees-engineers, program managers, technical and subject experts, as well as, various aircraft and component repair specialists, will be replaced over the next 5 to 6 years.
Growth in the community continues. It’s a great location to raise a family. It’s a convenient place to live. The area is easy to reach from the north, south, east or west. It adjoins Interstates 75 and 16. With 3 approaches that parallel Interstate 75 traffic flows easily during the times the more than 25 thousand employees who work at Robins Air Force base make their arrivals and departures.
Those who live and work in the area are described as good-natured and temperate…. temperate just like the weather. Summer temperatures average about 82 degrees farenheit. You’ll find winter temperatures some 40 degrees cooler with an average of about 46 degrees.
All in all there’s plenty to like about Warner-Robins, Georgia and Houston County.
